On 11 January 2012 a solemn service was celebrated at the Russian Cathedral of the Resurrection in Berlin marking the 25th anniversary of the archpastoral ministry of Archbishop Feofan of Berlin and Germany.
Archbishop Longin of Klin, representative of the Russian Orthodox Church in Germany, officiated at the Divine Liturgy. Concelebrating were Metropolitan Seraphim of Germany, Central and Northern Europe (Romanian Orthodox Church); Archbishop Feofan of Berlin and Germany; Archbishop Alexander of Pereyaslavl-Khmelnitsky; Archbishop Yelisei of Sourozh; Bishop John of Palmyra (Orthodox Church of Antioch); Bishop Agapit of Stuttgart (Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia); Bishop Alexander of Baku and Azerbaijan; Bishop Nazary of Vyborg; clerics of the Russian Orthodox Church’s Berlin diocese and of other Orthodox Churches. Representatives of the Armenian Apostolic Church, of the Roman Catholic Church, and of the Evangelical Church in Germany attended the Liturgy.
Archbishop Longin of Klin wholeheartedly congratulated Archbishop Feofan, read out greetings from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, and presented him with the order of the Holy and Right-Believing Prince Daniel of Moscow, 2nd class, conferred on him with the blessing of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church. Archpriest Georgy Latushko, rector of Sts Peter and Paul Cathedral in Minsk, conveyed greetings from Metropolitan Filaret of Minsk and Slutsk, Patriarchal Exarch for All Belarus, who had officiated at Archbishop Feofan’s episcopal consecration in Minsk twenty-five years ago.
On the same day Vladimir Grinin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Federal Republic of Germany, and Archbishop Longin of Klin gave a reception in honour of Archbishop Feofan at the Russian Embassy. Among the guests were church figures, politicians and businessmen of the country, reports the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Germany.
