Получила первую магистерскую степень по богословию в St. John’s College (Ноттингем, Англия), вторую магистерскую степень по богословию в Johannes Gutenberg-Universität (Майнц, Германия).

Докторскую степень (PhD) по богословию в Ruprecht Karl-Universität (Гейдельберг, Германия). Докторская хабилитация состоялась в Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität (Мюнстер, Германия).

В 1984-2007 гг. преподавала в Даремском университете.

С 2007 г. преподает в Йельском университете.

Академические интересы: литургика, гимнографи, история богослужения.
